We are celebrating National Intern Day at OKW Architects!
OKW has a long history of bringing interns into our studio to help us with our projects and grow as professionals. This year, we assembled a team to elevate our intern program into a dynamic and fully developed experience. We are incredibly proud of our “summer class” of interns, who have worked diligently on a variety of projects and enriched our office with their cheerful personalities.
The OKW Intern Program aims to provide our interns with a broad architectural and design experience, where they will be exposed to many different project types at various points in their development. It also lets each intern work with our diverse staff, sharpen interpersonal skills, and help create a framework for better organization.
We would be incredibly fortunate to find people as talented and driven as these three, who we are certain will rapidly grow into accomplished architects and designers. In the spirit of celebrating our interns, please read below about their experience.
Ramya Pattanur Vasudevan
Ramya’s can-do personality has been shining at OKW both in her work and during office events. In addition to juggling multiple projects, she was a key player in her Trivia team and celebrated #Pride with our firm by running the Proud to Run 5k. Her drive for self-improvement has been apparent, which we are certain will come in handy as she finishes her Masters degree at U of I.

Hannah Galkin
The self-appointed historian of her family, Hannah’s multiple interests have been on display at OKW. Beyond architecture and urban planning, she has shared her travels with our studio, specifically a meaningful trip westward to learn about her family’s history in the frontier. She has consistently shown a desire to learn, specifically when it comes to architectural tools and software. We’re thrilled to have her and hope she uses what she has learned to complement her dual Masters degree.

Donovan Sandoval
Donovan is spending her last summer before college at OKW, getting a head start on a rewarding academic and vocational path. Her experience at OKW has so far confirmed and bolstered her commitment to the profession, which makes us incredibly proud. We expect great things from her at Iowa State and afterward, and hope this internship is the first of many rewarding steps in her career.

Julia Carnaghi
We can’t write about our interns without mentioning the fabulous Julia. Forming an integral part of our Interior Design department, Julia has been working at OKW for multiple semesters. During that time, she has made a name for herself by working on numerous projects and developing many meaningful relationships in the industry.
