PHOTOS: Our Sixth Build Day for Habitat for Humanity

Homeownership is not only a powerful wealth-generating tool, it improves health, education, and social outcomes for homeowners and their families. Women face a disproportionate inequity of access to homeownership due to lower income, uneven care responsibilities, and mortgage denials.

That’s why our Team #OKWOMEN returned for our 6th consecutive Women Build event: to empower women to build a stronger future for themselves, their families, and their communities.

This year, we were in Greater Grand Crossing, working in the garage. In the words of our president:

Could not have asked for a better Build Day for Habitat’s WomenBuild. Our team managed to do a little bit of everything on site; flashing, trim, corner boards, starter strips and siding! A big thanks to everyone who has contributed to this effort! For those that still want to contribute, fundraising continues through October 26th.

We’re so close to breaking our all-time fundraising record, which we set last year. Your donation could put us over the top!

But more importantly, any amount goes towards ensuring the life-changing benefits of homeownership for the women homebuyers of Greater Grand Crossing.
