When we talk about reimagining or reinventing, we mean projects like this.
Our client had an industrial bottling facility in Chicagoland with an underused and dated appendage that served as an office. They needed a space that was more fitting of their employees and properly reflected what is arguably one of the world’s most popular brands: Coca-Cola.
Enter OKW. We worked as a united firm, channeling both our architectural and interior design talents to create a branded office that not only featured the Coca-Cola brand, but also provided warm, inviting spaces that make people want to come to the office.
The use of warm woods, natural stone, and graphic callouts to their biggest client resulted in a sophisticated office environment full of personality.
Ample use of glass in the branded lobby, as well as long clerestory windows in the open office, bring plenty of natural light into a once dark space that relied on fluorescents for illumination.
The result is a reimagining of an underused warehouse and the reinvention of the suburban office. This type of lateral thinking, of being able to translate a warehouse space not just into a functional office, but an elegant and branded showcase, is what makes OKW a strategic design and business partner for our clients.
Secondly, it’s a prime example of good, thoughtful design in what some might call an unlikely place. At OKW, we believe that there is no “place” for good design. It belongs wherever people engage with the built environment.
