Harlem Irving Companies reached out to OKW to re-think a shuttered Carson Pirie Scott for contemporary use. Not only does this project make 150,000 SF newly available space leasable to multiple tenants, it also also re-imagines the mall for 21st-century shoppers.
The project encompasses a new feature entry point from the second-floor parking deck, a widened and fully renovated interior concourse, and a new three-story atrium to provide visual access to the new second and third floor tenants. In addition to the structural challenges inherent in a project of this scale and complexity, our design team has managed to build the project while the mall is open to the public.

The redevelopment is expected to be complete by the early fall of 2020.
