The Post

New York City, New York

Imagine being back in the locker room, huddled with your teammates at your sides. You’re excited for what’s to come — the energy, camaraderie, and uncertainty — because they have your back and you have theirs. But after the game, how do athletes recreate that bond, that promise of a greater purpose? And what happens when they leave their leagues?

The Post, a new concept imagined by former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder, is the answer to those questions. After retiring from the NFL, Christian wanted to create meaningful pathways for former athletes to channel their energy and enthusiasm for their sports into professional ventures or avenues for self-improvement.

His first challenge was translating this vision into architectural space.

After speaking with OKW, the vision came to life. Together, we created a high-end, bespoke club designed specifically for athletes who have performed at the highest levels: college, professional leagues, and the Olympics. The Post includes conference rooms, a podcast room, and modular furniture that can transform a lounge into an intimate theater for screenings. Throughout the space are works of art by New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba, filling in the gaps with splashes of kinetic color.

The final product is a unique take on the social club, combining the high-end sophistication of a members-only experience with the excitement, grit, and attitude of high-performing sports leagues.
