Project Designer
ABOUT THE POSITION
Those design ideas that come to you at all hours of the day now have an outlet.
OKW is looking for a full-time creative, passionate, and thoughtful Project Designer with 5-10 years of design experience.
While working under the guidance of a Senior Designer, the Project Designer will aid in the planning and development of compelling designs for a variety of projects.
Be prepared for your ideas to be heard. The Project Designer will work both independently and collaboratively on detailed designs, coordinate project efforts with other staff members, and handle client and staff presentations.
There is no "typical day” for the Project Designer, because they will be using their many skills to assist on some combination of the following:
(1) feasibility studies, analyzing local zoning requirements and client programmatic expectations; (2) the entitlement process, producing documents for neighborhood meetings and local hearings; (3) the Schematic Design phase, working with the Senior Designer to conceptualize a vision for a project and translate that vision into three-dimensional imagery; (4) the Design Development phase, working with the Senior Designer and project team to select materials and design details that are consistent with the overall design intent.
