In between degrees and looking to spend a fun summer in Chicago, Kelly decided to join us for an internship. Having earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Knowlton School at The Ohio State University and staying in Chicago for her master’s degree at Illinois Institute of Technology, she is driven, enthusiastic, and eager to take on the complexities of the profession.
Kelly started her path to architecture as a child when watching interior design shows on HGTV. She found herself wishing the designers would do something – anything – of true substance to the actual house itself. This desire to think more holistically led her to architecture, which she sees today as a means to build and enrich communities.
When she’s not in the office, she is choosing between her hobbies. On the one hand, she is an active sports fan and grew up playing field hockey and lacrosse. On the other, she loves relaxing and restorative activities like walking through Grant Park and taking in the views of Lake Michigan at Navy Pier.
As a self-labeled foodie, Kelly loves discovering new restaurants and enjoys exploring the city in search of the best food. When in her hometown of Annapolis, Maryland, she enjoys boating along the Chesapeake Bay and spending quality time with family, friends, and her two dogs, Lilly and Lucky.
