Dan has always found pleasure in the intersection of his interests. In music, he enjoys when heavy metal bands add local folk instruments to their power chords. He combines his love of endurance sports with mentorship as a running coach for two different Chicago non-profits. At OKW, he is lucky enough to immerse himself in architecture and communications, guiding the firm’s voice across multiple media.
Drawing on his love of storytelling, he translates the often complex world of architecture and design with more approachable language.
When he’s not at the office, Dan is likely on the running path, at a heavy metal show, in a museum with his wife and kids, or visiting his family in Costa Rica.
If you weren’t a marketer, what would you be? A statistician? I love statistics to a strange extent. I track every individual mile I run, every song I listen to, and meticulously document my life in photos and on paper. There’s something about seeing measurable change that fascinates me.
What would be a cool superpower? I would like a comfortable room in my house where time stands still. That way I could write a novel, compose an album, and read a fantasy trilogy without having to ignore my friends and family for a month. Would that technically be my home’s superpower?
If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life: Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It’s the full nutritional package: carbs, protein, and fat. I ran 50 miles on them once (a smidge over ten hours), so I’m pretty sure they could sustain me through first-world life expectancy.
