As a Chicago area native, Rachel has always been surrounded by inspirational architecture. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that she naturally gravitated toward it without prompt. Whether she’s in the city or during a trip abroad, her spatial awareness allows her to see the world in terms of how people use it.
Her goal with any project is to create positive, enjoyable spaces. With degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Michigan, Rachel’s experience as an architect spans program types and scales, from world-class hospitality institutions to luxury multifamily developments, office renovations, and beyond. She demonstrated her passion for design with a recent fellowship administered by the University of Michigan, where she studied sustainable practices in four major European cities.
When she’s not working, you can find her running, traveling, or creating original art with charcoal.
Most inspirational space: The Chicago Lakefront. I love the beautiful skyline backdrop and people watching on a warm summer day.
If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life: I always like a good stir fry.
Top city you want to visit: I would love to see Geneva, Switzerland.
